The Attorney General Election- The two candidates in the election are Maura Healy (D) and John Miller (R).
Maura Healy is the Ex-Attorney General's Office Civil Rights Bureau Chief and the Democratic nominee for Attorney General. She has taken clear stances on many different hot button issues like gun policy, the repeal of gambling, same-sex marriage, and abortion. She has declared herself to be Pro-Choice, and strongly in favor of same sex-marriage. She is against casinos in Massachusetts and wants to take on income inequality by attempting many different tactics including raising minimum wage.
John Miller is an Attorney and a Civil Engineer and the Republic nominee of Attorney General. John Miller believes the position of Attorney General is less of a political position and more of an economic duty. He is running on the pedestal of fighting political corruption. He says he will simply comply with whatever the voters decide on the casino issue. In addition to political corruption, Miller is targeting crime and is focusing on ways to decrease crime rates of Massachusetts.
